Phoenix Police Department is Hiring an Office of Homeless Solutions - Outreach Program Coordinator (Human Services Program Coordinator) Near Phoenix, AZ

ABOUT THIS POSITION
The City of Phoenix Office of Homeless Solutions is seeking creative, data-driven, solutions-oriented professionals to help make meaningful impact within the homeless services system in the region. Currently, there is a vacancy for an Outreach Program Coordinator.
The Human Services Program Coordinators oversee and manage the homeless outreach programs with a focus on working closely with a wide variety of public and private agencies to ensure outreach efforts meet the needs of those experiencing homelessness. Coordinators work closely with the City's PHX C.A.R.E.S., a coordinated response for neighborhoods and individuals experiencing homelessness through education, resources, and encampment cleanups.
The Outreach Program Coordinator will be responsible for managing and supervising the Case Management team that provides outreach and engagement, connecting and identifying social service needs of homeless individuals, and collaborating with social service agencies and Neighborhood Specialists to mitigate community impact to residents, business owners and community groups.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Demonstrated ability to write professional business documents.
  • Ability to present program information to community partners and the general public.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency using Microsoft Office functions in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
SALARY
Pay Range: $80,454 to $131,040 annually.
Hiring Range: $80,454 to $113,194 annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience managing human services social service programs.
  • Three years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Master's degree in public or business administration, social work, sociology, or a related field.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum qualifications may be substituted.

  • Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
  • Experience working with homeless services organizations directly or indirectly.
  • Experience partnering with various businesses, neighborhood groups, agencies, and city departments as it applies to homelessness.
  • Experience with the coordination of referrals on the issue of homelessness.
  • Experience with public speaking, coordinating public forums, and organizing neighborhood and community meetings.
  • Advanced level coordination of events that serve people experiencing homelessness.
