SummaryThe Campus Technology Specialist (CTS) works in conjuction with the key Information Technology staff to assist in the design, development, maintenance, support and installation of campus computer networks, and equipment and software assocated with instructional and instruction support computing; circulation of audio visual equipment.
Essential Functions
  • Responds to all Help Desk requests submitted through the work order system, email, phones calls, and walk-ins. Troubleshoots connectivity issues with networks and servers and issues with peripheral devices to include printers and projectors.
  • Updates computers and servers to include software and operating systems updates and hardware upgrades.
  • Works with campus technology team to perform routine maintenance on campus-wide technology. Provides hardware and software support, hardware and software upgrades, troubleshooting basic equipment repair for all campus technology.
  • Manages, monitors and maintains systems and infrastructure on campus to include servers, hardware, networking, phone, bells, intercom, UPS, air conditioning units in all data closets.
  • Installs and maintains technology and infrastructure for teachers, students, and staff. Creates and updates images on servers on a regular basis.
  • Serves as the lead for campus site Technology Support staff; responds to questions, assigns and assists with tasks, and provides training as needed.
  • Attends and participates in various meetings with IT Support Team, Principals & campus departments, IMC, other District staff.
  • Collaborates with Technology and Logistics teams and vendors to support and repair hardware and networks and strategize processes for growing technology.
  • Maintains site technology inventory. Organizes and prepares surplus and assists with the warehouse team with pick-ups.
  • Supports the relationship between the Phoenix Union High School District and the public by demonstrating courteous and professional behavior when interacting with students, parents, visitors, and school staff; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records, and school information; follows Governing Board Policies; performs all other related duties as required or assigned.

License And Certification RequirementsPossess an active Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card or obtain one within the first 90 workdays of employment.

  • Skill in performing basic computer repairs.

  • Ability to provide excellent customer experiences, including but not limited to interacting tactfully and courteously with the public.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Skill in researching and compiling data for reports, presentations, and technical documents.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to type and enter data with speed and accuracy.

  • Ability to use initiative within established organizational policies and procedural guidelines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENTWork is performed at District facilities and school campuses and requires the use of hand tools. May be required to climb ladders and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
