Position SummaryWe are looking for a Senior Accountant to manage general accounting and financial processes of our company. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for all daily accounting tasks, including preparing tax documents and updating expense files. The role will perform financial transactions and post them in the general ledger, with strong attention to detail. The Staff Accountant will also carry out relevant administrative duties. This position will be reporting to the Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy
- Prepare and file tax returns
- Organize and update financial records
- Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare documentation for external auditors
- Maintain and update accounting records and files
- Analyze budgets and create expense reports
- Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g. by assets, liabilities, and expenses)
- Reconcile bank statements
- Conduct month-end and year-end close
- Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations
- Report to the Director of Finance and work to improve financial processes
- Education: BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in accounting CPA Plus but not required
- Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word, and must be able to work with pivot tables, VLookups, and complex models. SQL experience a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
