Trinity Health Of New England - the regions largest nonprofit health system - and Mercy Medical Center are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join our surgery team on a Per Diem basis as part of our Physician Assistant Surgical Services (PASS) located in Springfield, Massachusetts.

This exciting position is ideal for a self-motivated Physician Assistant who is knowledgeable in the aspects of General Surgery and enjoys working within all of the surgical subspecialties. The duties would include day and night coverage at our modern and conveniently located Medical Center. The ideal candidate would possess the current skills to evaluate surgical patients, interact with the multidisciplinary hospital staff, and assist in all aspects of patient care. This would include ER evaluation, admission and pre- and post-operative management of in-patients for General Surgical Service, as well as first assisting in the operating room.

The applicant must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program who is eligible to be licensed to practice as a Certified Physician Assistant in Massachusetts. A current federal DEA and eligibility for Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration will be required. The candidate must have certification by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants). The successful candidate should have experience in the acute care/surgical setting or completion of a Postgraduate Surgical Residency program. CPR Certification is recommended.
