If you desire to improve your work/life balance, Physicians Ambulatory Surgery Center has an opportunity for you! As a part-time or PRN Pre/Post OP Registered Nurse in our ambulatory surgery center, you will provide safe and individualized nursing care for patients who are undergoing surgery.

Regularly you will . . .

• Provide comfort and reassurance to patients and support the patients’ right to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality
• Confirm that proper techniques and procedures are used according to accepted standards of practice
• Assist in inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment to maintain availability and stock levels
• Perform thorough pre‐operative patient assessment required in the outpatient setting
• Perform safe and individualized nursing care for the patient in the immediate post‐operative/post‐anesthesia period
• Perform thorough post‐operative patient assessment prior to discharge of the patient
• Perform discharge education to patient and care giver
• Provide nursing care to meet patient needs related to surgical condition and type of anesthesia administered

Success in this position will require . . .

• Current Missouri nursing license
• Commitment to patient care
• Excellent skills and clinical ability
• Minimum two years pre- and post-operative experience
• Ambulatory care experience, preferred
• BLS and ACLS certification
