Physicians Datatrust is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near Vista, CA

Job DescriptionJob Summary
With general guidance, responsible for preparing financial statements for IPAs and related tasks and analysis
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (*=Essential tasks)
Posts monthly closing entries and prepares monthly interim financial statements in accordance with GAAP.*
Calculates incurred but not reported (IBNR) liability and validates lag tables*
Processes multiple bank account reconciliations monthly*
Reconciles incoming IPA capitation and reviews claims deductions for accuracy*
Performs account analysis*
Reviews accounts payable and accounts receivable including reviewing check runs for the company and each IPA on a weekly basis.
Assist with IPA cash management activities.
Maintains all company credit cards.
Reviews PDT cellular and data accounts monthly.
Produces Profit & Loss reports by health plan and other reports as requested.
Provides guidance to other accounting staff.
Provides Additional Accounting Support For The Department As Required.Supervisory Responsibilities
None.
Skills, Knowledge & AbilitiesKnowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Strong bookkeeping skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of a Division of Financial Responsibility (DOFR) and its impact
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet strict deadlines.
Ability to collect and communicate data effectively.
Ability to 10-Key proficiently.
Technological proficiency for use of the personal computer, Microsoft Excel and Word, Outlook, and Sage
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to speak effectively with external contacts and employees of organization.
Education and/or Experience
Prior experience typically achieved through four years in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
Theoretical knowledge typically achieved through a four-year college experience, such as a Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent.
