Senior UX Designer
Location: Santa Clara
The Opportunity:
Picarro is seeking an experienced Sr. UX Designer with a passion for environmental solutions, focusing on leak detection and quantification of VOCs and other trace gases. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in UX design and product management, bringing a user-focused mindset, creativity, and innovation to our environmental applications.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design process for cloud software products related to gas leak detection and environmental monitoring.
- Conduct user research and usability testing specific to environmental applications.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups tailored to environmental solutions.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to develop user-centered designs.
- Advocate for user-centered design principles to enhance the effectiveness of our environmental detection technologies.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in UX design for environmental applications.
Skills:
- Engaging with stakeholders to gather and elaborate requirements for environmental technology solutions.
- Identifying use cases and decomposing functionality.
- Diagramming business processes and visualizing data.
- Designing information architecture and interaction flows.
- Creating rapid prototypes and high-fidelity wireframes.
- Conducting user and usability research along with web analytics specific to environmental technologies.
- Presenting designs, advocating for UX best practices, and managing client relationships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in design or related field.
- Over 10 years of experience in UX design and product management.
- Proficiency with design tools like Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating design processes and final products.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
