Warehouse Associate - Picnic Time 2024
This is a physically demanding but rewarding job and an opportunity to work, learn and be a part of an amazing team.
Associates are required to lift up to 50 pounds, walk or stand for most of the shift, and wear protective gear. Some warehouse associates operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, hand trucks, and a variety of production machines.
Warehouse associates perform an array of functions. As part of the general warehouse team, they may also be called on to assist with accepting and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse.
Warehouse associates may be trained in duties for various departments such as decorating, packing, and material handling, and should expect to be assigned wherever they are needed.
Duties :
Typical duties might include loading and unloading trucks, receiving raw materials and products, and picking, packing, wrapping, labeling, and/or shipping products. A Warehouse Associate may maintain shipping and receiving logs and makes sure that incoming and outgoing products and material are in good condition. In addition, the associate will maintain the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the warehouse.
Future possibilities :
Warehouse Associates can aspire to related supervisory positions in the warehouse or shipping departing or in materials management or logistics. They might also move into other fields that require their organizational skills, inventory control experience, or product knowledge.
Warehouse Associates interact with many departments in the course of doing their jobs, which consists of much more than moving material around the plant. They play an important part in controlling costs by assuring that materials are safely stored, counted, and delivered to the proper department when they are needed.
Required skills and training
Education :
High school – Read, Write, and Speak English
Experience :
None required – 2 years plus related experience preferred. Candidates must be 18 years or older prior to their start date.
Skills and Certifications :
Warehouse associates need to be attentive to detail, have good planning and time management skills, and be willing to assume a variety of tasks to keep the warehouse functioning.
Hours:
Normal warehouse hours are 7:30 AM - 4 PM Monday-Friday. During peak season, the warehouse operates various 8-hour shifts between 6 AM and 10 PM Monday-Friday. Additional hours and days of operation may be required.
Compensation:
Warehouse associates will start at $16.50 -$18.75 per hour depending on experience.
