Hiring PCAs for day shift (7am-7pm). Looking for reliable and caring people to join our team. Looking for full-time employees.
Must Be able to:
Approach residents with a warm smile, being respectful and helpful at all times.
Provide personal care (morning care, bathing, showering, oral care, hair care, fingernail care, dressing, feeding and assisting residents to the dining room.
Assist in admitting residents, including organizing belongings and making residents feel welcome.
Change bed linen and maintain appropriate grooming supplies in resident room on a regular basis.
Assist with mobility of residents as needed.
Supply residents with fresh water and ice and encourage fluid intake every shift. Water pitchers to be taken to the kitchen to be washed as assigned.
Make rounds of assigned residents every two (2) hours, taking care of resident needs.
Answer residents promptly and efficiently.
Observe residents carefully and report changes in resident condition to Supervisor, including behaviors, appetite, breathing, complaint of pain, intake and output, redness or pressure areas.
HOUSEKEEPING DUTIES:
Maintain established housekeeping standards within assigned duty areas.
Use basic infection control techniques to avoid infection of residents and self-contamination of equipment and supplies (hand washing, latex gloves, sanitary wipes).
Be alert for proper ventilation, temperature, light and noise control.
Maintain orderly resident rooms- including making beds, cleaning overbed tables, keep room free of clutter, keeping closets and dressers neat.
Remove soiled linens and trash from the building immediately, disposing of it in the appropriate areas. Never put soiled items on the floor.
Wash residents’ clothes and towels and wash cloths on a routine schedule as needed.
Treat all equipment with care, keeping it clean and taking care not to tear it up.
RECORD KEEPING:
Chart daily for all residents.
All charting must be done on appropriate forms and done timely.
All phone calls to the office phones must be answered and/or forwarded to correct management.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
Ability to communicate in English in a clear, concise manner.
Must be caring, understanding and tactful with residents, guests and co-workers.
Must be flexible and willing to help peers.
Willing to work under supervision.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Current Nursing Assistant certification from N.C. State and completed the 80 hour Personal care task competency
evaluation.
Must take the appropriate continuing education to maintain nursing assistant status.
Attend In-Service programs provided by the facility.
Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well on the team, in support of facility objectives.
All staff are customer service representatives of the facility.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to deal with new tasks without the benefit of written procedures.
Approachable, flexible and adaptable to change.
Function independently, and have personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with employees and vendors.
Assist in the Orientation and Training of other staff as requested.
Other special projects and duties, as assigned by Supervisor in charge or the DRC/MCC.
Hours will not exceed 40/week unless approved by the DRC/MCC or Administrator.
Willing to uphold the traditions and philosophy of PCH in providing care to the aging.
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to fifty (50) or more pounds.
Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
Push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds to a minimum height of three (3) feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of fifty (50) feet.
Standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
Bending and/or stooping for more than one (1) hour at a time.
