JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for gathering, analyzing and managing risk management data, and preparing reports to management and outside agencies as required. Participates in the review, investigation and evaluation of actual and potential claims. Serves as a resource to staff and management by participating in committee meetings and safety initiatives. Responsible for risk management activities including administering the risk management program on a day-to-day basis and conducting risk management education. Participates in formulating policy and/or organizational changes but must seek advice and approval from higher authority.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Risk Management, or related field required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Five (5) years of experience in a hospital or other healthcare setting.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
If RN, current license in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional and general liability experience preferred.
Knowledge of risk management and medico-legal decisions and terminology preferred.
