The intensive care unit at Piedmont Rockdale;
Bedside shift report during nurse and pct handoff 6:45a/p
Hourly, purposeful rounding using A.I.D.E.T
Compliance with our quality initiatives
Multidisciplinary rounding
Nurse patient ratios of 2:1 ICU / 4:1 IMCU
Charge nurse with limited patient load to facilitate daily operations

Intensive Care Unit (ICU) 18 bedsPatient population consist of chest pain, CHF, renal disease, DKA, digestive disease, pulmonary disease and standard critical care patients. Nursing competency includes BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certification, CRRT, and ICU nursing care.
Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) 21 bedsPatient population consist of chest pain, CHF, renal disease, DKA, digestive disease, pulmonary disease and general intermediate care patients. Nursing competency includes BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certification, and general knowledge of intermediate nursing care.
All units provide services to a robust patient population with many opportunities to expand your professional practice and experience. You will grow your skills and have many opportunities to enroll in education that offers CEUs. We offer our nurses many opportunities to get involved via the shared governance council, unit-based councils, and a plethora of committees so your voice is always heard. Responsible ForThe staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
QualificationsMINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:Graduate of a nursing program
Minimum Experience RequiredNew Graduates of a nursing program eligible
Minimum Licensure/Certification Required By LawCurrent License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
BLS certification required.
Additional QualificationsFor PRN positions: One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred
Bachelors degree preferred
Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
