Description RESPONSIBLE FOR: The Clinical Resource Nurse acts as the Educator and Lead for the IV Team. They ensure quality patient care is provided, are responsible for maintaining standards of practice, and coordinate patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care. He/She functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. Performs in a charge or staff nurse role providing direct patient care as needed. Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Graduate from school of nursing. Minimum Experience Required Three years of Operating Room experience. Minimum Licensure/Certification Required By Law Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. BLS certification required. Additional Qualifications BLS and Vascular Access Certification Required. Extensive knowledge of PICCS, midlines and peripheral IVs. Ability to perform IOs when needed. Ability to educate on a local and system level regarding vascular access. Proficient in different types of access devices. Aware of nursing and vascular access current trends and techniques. Ability to evaluate, plan and implement patient care that directly relates to IV therapy and vascular access.
