ABS Global, a Genus Company, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a Global Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager to join our team. The position is located just outside of Madison, Wisconsin, and offers hybrid work options. The Global EH&S Manager has primary accountability for implementing and overseeing site-specific health, safety, and environmental operations across the assigned business unit sites. This includes ensuring compliance with EH&S policies, risk management, and fostering a strong culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Coordinate, develop, and deploy Group EH&S policies, best practices, and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements.
- Identify and evaluate significant health and safety risks and develop suitable control systems.
- Investigate incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventative measures.
- Develop and implement initiatives to enhance health, safety, and environmental performance across the business.
- Promote EH&S activities to increase awareness and understanding across the organization.
- Uphold the Genus core values, mission and vision.
- Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Occupational Safety and Health/Environment or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Five years of full-time safety and/or occupational health operations experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively market and communicate EH&S solutions to all company levels.
- Proven ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally (30-45% required).
- Strong knowledge of OSHA general industry and EPA regulations, along with familiarity with equivalent international standards.
- Experience in investigations and hazard mitigation for research laboratories, industrial, institutional, and facilities maintenance operations.
- Knowledge of Fire Protection, Contractor Safety, Injury/Illness Prevention, Electrical Safety, Hazardous Substances, and Ergonomics.
