Restaurant General Manager
Pike’s Landing Restaurant is seeking a motivated General Manager. Our restaurant has deep historic ties to the Fairbanks community but also a robust connection to the thriving tourism industry.
The General Manager will lead a team of 20 plus front of house staff over both lunch and dinner services of great American food.
Restaurant General Manager Job Responsibilities : To ensure that guests are fully enjoying their visit to the restaurant, the restaurant manager directs and motivates the service staff to ensure that guests are having a great time.
- Executing great customer service by leading the team and surveying restaurant demand.
- Develop and maintain a consistent workforce.
- Meets restaurant financial objectives.
- Attracts patrons by developing and implementing marketing, advertising, and public and community programs.
- Controls purchases and inventory for the bar and front of house supplies, while working directly with the Executive Chef.
- Maintains operations by preparing policies and standard operating procedures, aiming for consistent productivity and quality.
- Maintains patron satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and auditing food and beverage service offerings.
- Accomplishes restaurant and bar human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy facility by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the restaurant industry.
- Accomplishes company goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
Enjoy the Fairbanks summer. The GM will spend plenty of time in the sunshine engaging with guests as they dine on the deck.
A successful candidate will work directly with the Executive Chef. Long hours during the summer season may be a factor. The restaurant is open from 11am 11pm, 7 days a week.
The successful candidate will establish a clear line of communication with the Pike’s Property General Manager. Our local restaurant is open year-round so weekends and holidays will be included.

Restaurant General Manager Qualifications and Skills
- Strong knowledge of front and back of house operations including food, beverages, staff supervision, inventory, and food safety
- Strong understanding of cost and labor systems that lead to restaurant profitability
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Comfort working with budgets, payroll, revenue, and forecasting
- Ability to lead big groups of people
- Must be able to be on feet, stand and walk for extended periods of time
Education and Experience Requirements
- Must have previous restaurant general manager experience
