Position Title: Specialist 1: Student Services - (Part -Time)Department: Student Services – Downtown CampusStarting Rate: Band 2 - $18.08Benefits: SummaryClosed Date: September 6, 2024; 5:00 PM Arizona Time Position Summary:The Student Services Specialist provides a full range of student services support, including assisting students in navigating college systems, data entry and management, and registration. Administers support to the Student Affairs team and assists in guiding students through the various academic questions and issues.The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends.This position is temporary and will 19.5 hours per week. This position will end on 12/31/2024 , with the possibility of an extension past this date.Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitates students with admissions, course registration, and assessment and testing Assists students with verification, residency, and transcript submission
Monitors and answers student inquiries using online services, email, and phone
Provides advising services regarding policies, procedures, and processes pertaining to multiple functional areas of enrollment Provides guidance on admissions, academic advising, and financial aid support
Navigate students through the Pima platforms, including MyPima, MyDegreePlan, and the Pima website. Teaches and assists students in navigating the student portal, using online student service processes, and applying for financial aid and scholarships
Implements department operational procedures, forms, and processes in coordination with the District Office specifications and other campus departments
Greeting students professionally in person or by phone in the SSCs, Student Life Centers, or at other Student Affairs programming events
Assisting students in setting up various digital resources like MyPima, D2L, etc.
Following up with students after Student Affairs programming events to answer questions
Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor
Knowing about and sharing with students the opportunities to build connections to the College such as through student life, student clubs and organizations, leadership opportunities, how to get involved, and the value of student engagement
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED and
Up to one year of related experience
Preferred:
One to three years of related experience

Knowledge of administrative procedures and practices
Knowledge of internal and external customer service principles and Skill in effective communication (both written and oral)
Skill in performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different Skill in positive, productive and flexible customer service
Skill in analyzing data and drawing conclusions
Ability to apply effective and accurate data entry and typing skills
Ability to develop and maintain effective and positive working relationships
Ability to operate relevant equipment required to complete assigned responsibilities for the position
