Pin Oak Group, LLC is Hiring an Environmental Specialist Near Corpus Christi, TX

Position Summary: The Environmental Specialist is primarily responsible for ensuring the Company’s compliance with applicable environmental programs. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Knowledgeable in local, state, and federal environmental regulations applicable to bulk liquids terminals, pipelines, marine, and rail loading.
  • Expertise in Company air, waste, and wastewater requirements and compliance.
  • Manage Company’s waste management program including maintaining waste profiles, reviewing shipping manifests, inspecting waste containers, and ensuring proper disposal.
  • Manage Company’s wastewater permits and ensure compliance by obtaining appropriate samples and completing monthly DMR.
  • Manage Company’s air permits including updating emissions inventories, performing emission estimates, facilitating Title V deviation reports, and managing LDAR program.
  • Prepare and submit timely regulatory reports and documentation as required by regulatory agencies including emissions inventory, Tier II and annual waste.
  • Train and coach employees and local supervisors in Company compliance policies, programs, and procedures related to air, waste and wastewater management.
  • Work closely with local leadership to facilitate field compliance with established procedures and practices.
  • Identify and communicate compliance requirements and risk to Company leadership. Recommend control measures as appropriate.
  • Prepare for and participate in scheduled and unscheduled audits and inspections by external regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct internal compliance audits and present results to leadership.
  • Participate in drills as required by spill response and emergency response plans.
  • Track, analyze, interpret, and present compliance performance data to employees and leadership on a regular basis.
  • Maintain current, accurate, and complete records.
  • Participate in incident investigations, MOCs and workplace assessments. Ensure timely closure of action items.
  • Terminal is 24/7 operation. HSE Specialist will be on call and may need to report to the terminal to assist with emergencies or unplanned events.
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative environment both on-site and remote which will include participation in unscheduled discussions on an as needed basis.

Position Qualifications

Required:

  • Working knowledge of the following: Air permits – NSR, PBR, Title V, Storm water and wastewater permits, SPCC and Waste management
  • A minimum of a High school diploma or GED and 6 years of related experience
  • Experience in environmental programs for the oil and gas industry is required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Skilled using Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA for any USA employer
  • Must have a valid drivers license and must be able to pass pre-employment screenings

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and 3 years of related experience

Physical Demands: 

  • Moderate Work: Work involves sitting, standing, and/or moving from one location to another. Typically includes exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Might include ability to climb, balance, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl at differing elevations.
