We’re looking for an experienced commercial attorney, preferably based in New York City, to build the future of contract negotiation with us.

You’ll be one of our first employees and have a high level of independence & impact. You'll be building the company alongside the founders as we grow. Together, we’ll make contract review better for thousands of companies, letting them focus on delivering value to their customers.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an attorney with a strong understanding of commercial contracts, and preferably with experience building contracting playbooks used by in-house legal teams.

In this role, you will:

• Develop contracting playbooks and own playbook creation end-to-end, including working directly with customers to understand their requirements and iterate the end product with them to ensure their success
• Develop subject matter expertise on a diverse set of commercial contract types used by companies worldwide
• Develop and refine industry-standard contract playbooks for a variety of sectors and contract types
• Work closely with our founders and engineering team to incorporate client feedback into product development and continually improve user experience
• Develop expertise from generalist models through prompt engineering and fine-tuning
• Build proprietary internal benchmarks to evaluate models and model systems

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a business-minded lawyer, who is excited to learn and passionate about our mission.

• 3 years of experience at a large law firm or in-house negotiating commercial contracts, with a preference for privacy experience
• Strong preference for experience building contracting playbooks for use by in-house legal teams
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

• Ability to deliver high quality work product on demanding deadlines
• Effective communication with clients and internal stakeholders, bridging and translating needs between both groups.
• Willingness to work in the trenches, such as reading through hundreds of contracts, as well as prompt engineering and advanced research to become an expert at even uncommon contract types
