We are currently seeking a Groundskeeper to join our crew! In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance and cemetery-related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cemetery grounds using zero-turn mowers and weed whackers.
• Assist in digging and filling graves.
• Perform burial service set-ups and clean-ups.
• Complete minor monument repairs and re-aligning of monuments.
• Install flat markers and pour concrete foundations for monuments.
• Complete cemetery clean-ups and improvement projects.
• Perform routine maintenance to mechanical equipment.
• Maintain shop and break room in a clean and orderly condition.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
• Must have a reliable mode of transportation.
• Must be able to lift weights up to 80 lbs. or more with assistance. Position requires heavy physical effort with proper bending, squatting, stretching, pushing, climbing, dragging, and pulling.
• Must be dependable and work well with others.
• Must serve a three-month probationary period.
• Must work overtime after hours and on weekends when necessary to meet the needs of the cemetery.

Working Conditions

Work is performed outdoors. Grounds Crew is exposed to all types of weather throughout the year. This includes sun, heat and humidity, cold, rain, and wind. They are subject to noise, vibration, dirt, dust, and mud.

Experience

Experience in this field is not required, we will train motivated applicants. However previous experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance or other related labor experience is favorable.

Additional Information

• When overtime work is not needed, Grounds Crew work 40-hours a week, Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
• Groundskeepers are given two 20-minute paid breaks. These breaks are typically at 10:00 am and 2:30 pm.
• Groundskeepers are also given an unpaid 30-minute lunch break typically at 12:00 pm.
