Under the direction of the Controller and CFO, the Property Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day full-cycle accounting functions required to produce monthly financial statements for properties owned by joint-venture structures or third parties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Full-cycle A/R and A/P
• Cash management
• Establish and maintain positive tenant/vendor relations to resolve outstanding items
• Audit and research GL discrepancies, prepare corresponding entries
• Perform monthly balance sheet analysis and reconciliations
• Perform monthly operating expense analysis and reconciliations
• Work effectively with property management team to facilitate accurate entries at the property level
• Prepare timely and accurate entries for month-end close
• Produce monthly financial reporting at the property level
• Assist with internal and external audit requests
• Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• None

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Highly proficient with accounting software.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Strong attention to detail, problem solving and resolution
• Ability to work independently and follow through on deadlines

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

• Degreed in accounting, finance, or business
• Minimum three to five years in corporate accounting experience required
