Kitchen Team Member | Pinky’s Hot Box 

Pinky's Hot Box in Torrance, CA is a small-business restaurant specializing in spicy, fried chicken sandwiches and tenders while exploring flavors from different international and regional cuisines. As a Kitchen Team Member, you will be expected to prep and cook the menu for service, assemble food, as well as attend to customer needs and maintain cleanliness and organization of the restaurant.

Responsibilities 

  • Food preparation, cooking, station set-up and break-down, and cleaning
  • Ensure food storage and preparation areas are maintained according to Health & Safety and Audit standards
  • Comply with Food Code of Practice
  • Ability to take customer orders
  • Complete daily and weekly cleaning schedules
  • Maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers
  • Work as a team member and perform duties as assigned, requested or deem necessary by management
  • Washing and storing away dishes and kitchen equipment
  • Monitor stock levels
  • Checking in deliveries
  • Deliver a high standard of service when dealing with products, sales and catering for customer needs

Qualifications 

  • Must have at least 6 months to 1 year experience in the food or hospitality industry.
  • Food Handler Certification (Required). 
  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Good attitude, motivation to learn, work in a team environment, apply critical thinking skills, and work in a high-paced kitchen environment.

Job Type: Entry-level, Part-time, 20-30 hours per week.

Shifts: Morning, Mid, Night

Starting wage: Average $17.00/hour including customer gratuites. 

COVID-19 considerations: 

As per L.A. County, we require the use of a face mask whether you are fully vaccinated or not, at all times, along with other sanitary procedures, while you are inside the restaurant. Personal protective equipment/supplies provided or required. Social distancing guidelines in place. Sanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in place.
