This position may require significant behavioral interventions daily as well as serving in a role similar to a one-to-one attendant that provides assistance for a student’s academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.Provides direct assistance to instructor in special education classroom setting. Assists in maintaining discipline in the classroom. Performs miscellaneous classroom chores. Perform duties in multiple classrooms. Attends staff meetings as requested. Maintains records as requested.Performs miscellaneous classroom chores: Maintains neat, clean classrooms and facilities; shops for materials and supplies; prepares, distributes, and maintains instructor’s materials; constructs teaching aids. Ability to perform duties in multiple classrooms.Fills in for instructor, as needed: Performs as substitute for teacher in small group skill activity or in absence for short periods. Relates program philosophy, procedures and goals to the general public in a positive manner. Complies with Individual Bill of Rights.Marginal Functions and Responsibilities:Responsible for having knowledge of Board policies/procedures and work rules

Experience in special education classroom setting preferred. Must obtain and maintain applicable ODE Educational Aide certification/Paraprofessional and valid driver’s license. Must possess high school diploma or equivalent. FBI/BCII and all other applicable background checks are required.
