At Pioneer Motor Bearing Company, we provide original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and end users first-class bearing engineering, manufacturing and repair expertise. Our mission is to help them design, build, maintain and upgrade large rotating equipment to operate more efficiently and reliably over an extended life. We are a service oriented company; therefore our fast-paced environment helps in meeting the goal to provide best customer satisfaction.

**SUMMARY

**

The SSC makes a significant contribution to the company because they manage critical sales opportunities and customer data. This role is designed for career development through the sales department. The SSC’s contribution is highly visible and appreciated across the company.

The SSC handles a wide range of tasks in support of the mission of the Sales Department, as more fully described below.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

**include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Pioneer’s customer relationship software (CRM) is Salesforce. It is the heart of our IT systems and will be the primary tool for the SSC to perform most required actions, such as:

    • Creating accounts, customer contacts or leads

    • Creating and maintaining opportunities from requests for quotes (RFQs) received from customers or leads.

    • Drafting quotations

    • Communicating internally to assist Production and Estimating with developing each quotation. 

  • Rootstock ERP contains manufacturing information. Sales enters sales orders into Rootstock from Salesforce opportunities. Activities related to orders include:

    • Initial review of purchase orders; then after all reviews, acknowledging orders to customers

    • Creating and revising sales orders, providing all records to Production and QA when ready to release for creation of work orders

    • Create and store files, drawings, other records in Box.com online storage and file sharing system.

    • Retrieve, process and share information through multiple customer portals, company email and chatter.

  • The SSC will also receive cross training in logistics to be a backup resource for the logistics coordinator.

**COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITIES

**

In addition to those inherent in the above description of essential duties, it is important that the SSC communicate in a professional manner in both verbal and written communications. Some of those communication avenues are SalesForce, company Email, CRM “Chatter”, in informal and formal meetings on an on-going basis with Production, Quality, Estimating, and all others in the Sales

Department, and all commitments made to customers and important verbal and written communications from customers. In sum, help keep everyone informed.

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

**

This is intended to be an entry-level position for a candidate pursuing a career in sales. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Pioneer values education so the pursuit of any additional education or degree is encouraged and may be sponsored by a flexible work schedule and/or financial assistance. 

Though not required, any education, training, experience or exposure to the principles of customer relations, quality assurance or the fields of metal machining operations, blueprint reading or other industrial activity would be a positive attribute. 

Good organizational skills are critical to the success of the SSC as there will be numerous concurrent projects to manage.

**LANGUAGE SKILLS

**

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedures and process steps. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, co-workers and customers. An applicant should know what constitutes a proper sentence in the English language (and if he/she has some proficiency in either Spanish or Portuguese, what constitutes a proper sentence in those languages).

Though not required, proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese would also be a positive attribute.

**COMPUTER SKILLS

**

The SSC should enjoy (not fear) technology. We would expect the SSC to use modern productivity tools to increase their efficiency at work and in their personal life. The SSC should be resourceful and have the confidence that they can learn nearly anything themselves using online resources. The SSC should have knowledge of cloud-based file and document collaboration platforms such as Google Drive, Box.com, and/or Microsoft 365. The SSC will be proficient in Gmail, word documents, spreadsheets (including basic functions/formulas), and modern digital calendars (including shared calendars). The SSC should feel comfortable with either Android or iPhone and feel reasonably efficient performing some job duties using a mobile device. Ideally, the SSC will be familiar with important cloud A.I. tools and social networking programs like LinkedIn.

Proficiency in Salesforce (Classic and Lightning experience) is a plus.

**MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

**

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar and line graphs using Excel or its equivalent.

**Effective Interpersonal Skills:

**

Must be able to effectively interact with all levels of personnel within the company; must be a team player.

**REASONING ABILITY

**

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; ability to apply critical thinking skills to evaluate a problem, identify several alternative solutions and establish a rationale basis for selecting the best (or least detrimental) alternative.

Must have a license in good standing to drive an automobile.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts by virtue of walking through the plant production area, with or without customers. The noise level in the office work environment is usually very low.

**TRAVEL

**

Travel will not be required during the initial development and training of the SSC. Once acclimated with our customers, capabilities, and services, there will be an opportunity to travel on behalf of the company to participate in exhibitions at various conferences and conventions as well as direct customer visits. This will include road trips, flights, and overnight hotel stays.
