Job Description:Teachers at Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter Public School (PVPA) provide students witha supportive and challenging environment that is responsive to multiple learning styles,emphasizes learning through the arts, and integrates critical and creative thinking throughoutthe curriculum. Since 1996, PVPA has prepared students for higher education by employing arigorous, standards-based curriculum in a nurturing and collaborative environment.PVPA has openings for three permanent substitute teachers for the 2024-2025 school year. We are looking for a reflective practitioner who enjoys working with students in grades 7-12 and collaborating with colleagues. Permanent substituteteachers work full-time, and are placed as needed in a range of arts and academic classrooms ingrades 7-12. Under the direction of the Director of Curriculum & Instruction, you will be responsible for:1. Reports to school office 15 minutes prior to start of the school day to pick up requiredmaterials/schedule of classes.2. Carries out a program of study prescribed in lesson plans left by classroom teachers.3. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to thematurity of the students.4. Maintains a safe and orderly classroom.5. Takes attendance in accordance with school procedures.6. Ensures that students are never left unattended in the classroom.7. Follows emergency and safety procedures.8. Follows school procedures and regulations.9. Writes daily memos to teachers reporting on lesson plan and students.10. Writes restorative intervention referrals as needed.11. Performs other related duties as directed.
