Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter Public School is Hiring a SPEECH & LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST Near South Hadley, MA

ResponsibilitiesThe Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter Public School is seeking highly qualified candidate for the position of Speech and Language Pathologist for the 2024-2025 school year. The Speech and Language Pathologist functions as a member of the total diagnostic team by providing comprehensive differential diagnosis, assessment, educational planning for students with speech/language/communication disorders. Speech & language services may be delivered in a variety of ways by the speech & language pathologist alone or in collaboration with other service providers including direct services to address a wide range of needs i.e. receptive and expressive language, fluency, voice, articulation, aural rehabilitation, oral motor intervention, auditory processing, use of assistive technology, etc. Responsibilities include but are not limited to case management, treatment planning and implementation, writing IEPs, and conducting comprehensive assessments. Under the direction of the Director of Student Services, you will be responsible for:
  • Deep understanding of dual needs and appropriate diagnostic assessments
  • Managing a range of learner profiles including mild/moderate special needs and atypical learning profiles
  • Working with students on the autism spectrum, collecting data and conducting applied behavior analysis
  • Administering and interpreting formal and informal assessments, writing IEPs, supporting staff in the implementation of plans and monitoring plans for success
  • Create assistive technologies and augmentative communication plans as needed, maintain inventory of assistive technology equipment and train staff on appropriate use of assistive technology
QualificationsThe successful candidate will minimally hold a BA degree, be able to pass a background check (CORI/SORI & Fingerprinting) at least two years working with students in grades 7-12 and be computer literate. Preferred qualifications include:
  • Master’s degree
  • Speech & Language Pathologist license from the State of Massachusetts Board of Health
  • Ma Department of Elementary and Secondary Education certification/license as a Speech Pathologist-all levels
Other Information/InstructionsSalary Range: $42,420 to $67,372 annually. Additional $1,000 stipend for individuals who hold a DESE license in subject area and potential for bonus at the end of the fiscal year.
2024-2025 school year consists of 180 school days plus 5 professional development/curriculum work days and a thirty-five hour work week that includes, on average, three class blocks per day of collaborative/independent work time.
