Summary: The Senior Systems Administrator will be a key part of part of a customer service oriented infrastructure and support team. They will be the subject matter expert for the organization for our servers, storage, networking, cloud, information security, and other related technologies. They should have a hunger to continue learning new things. They should be able to solve almost any technical problem independently with enough time, research, and vendor support. They need to be able to communicate and work effectively with end users including executive leaders within the organization. They are willing to cross train junior members of the team to avoid being a single point of failures with knowledge of systems. They love to document how things work for themselves and for others. Job Expectations
System Maintenance and Monitoring: Ensure the health, performance, and security of servers, networks, and systems. Regularly monitor system performance and ensure compliance with security standards.
Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Provide advanced technical support for hardware, software, and network issues. Troubleshoot and resolve system outages and performance issues promptly.
System Upgrades and Patch Management: Plan and implement system upgrades, patches, and security updates. Ensure systems are up-to-date with the latest security patches.
Backup and Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans. Perform regular data backups and ensure data integrity and availability.
Network Configuration and Management: Manage and configure routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices. Optimize network performance and security.
User and Access Management: Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls. Ensure compliance with company policies and security protocols.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and changes. Provide regular reports on system performance and security status.
Project Management and Collaboration: Lead or participate in IT projects and initiatives. Collaborate with other departments to understand and meet their IT needs.
Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure systems and practices comply with industry standards and regulations. Implement and promote IT best practices within the organization.
Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in system administration. Proven experience managing and maintaining enterprise-level systems and networks.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in server administration. Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies. Experience with cloud platforms. Expertise in network configuration and troubleshooting.
Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Ability to analyze complex systems and develop effective solutions.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with other departments.
Organizational and Project Management Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Security Awareness: Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements. Experience implementing security measures and protocols.
