About the Role:

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Associate Counsel to join our legal team in New York. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-growing organization within the renewable energy sector, focusing on solar energy initiatives in the Northeastern United States. The Associate Counsel will be instrumental in supporting business operations by drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts and legal documents related to our solar projects. This role is ideal for a legal professional with a strong background in contract law and a passion for advancing renewable energy solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Counsel experience in Renewable Energy is a must
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a law firm, corporate, or regulatory environment.
  • Expertise in contract law, drafting, and management.
  • Familiarity with energy regulatory matters, particularly within the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Management: Lead the drafting, negotiation, and review of various legal documents, including solar installation agreements, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), lease agreements, and vendor contracts. Ensure all documents adhere to legal standards, regulatory requirements, and the company's objectives.
  • Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams, external partners, and legal advisors to resolve any contract-related issues and facilitate effective communication.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records and a comprehensive database of contracts, ensuring easy access and transparency across the organization.
  • Legal Research: Assist with legal research, prepare reports on legal issues and regulatory developments, and support the legal department in governance, compliance, and risk management.
