Piping Rock is Hiring a Jr. HR Generalist Near Bohemia, NY

Essence of the role (Role’s Purpose):
Located in our Bohemia, NY corporate office, the Jr. Generalist will be responsible for direct support to the Benefits and Training Supervisor. Responsibilities include leading the Company’s training initiative, driving administrative efforts in benefits and workers compensation, as well as supporting the department’s overall HR needs. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, and present professionally in both verbal and written communications.
Recipe for Success (Responsibilities):
  • Participate in the research, selection, and development of effective training tools and resources
  • Manage all Company or legally required training programs. This includes scheduling, documenting, vendor coordination etc.
  • Support implementation of the Learning Management System (LMS) including configuration, training the organization and maintenance of the system
  • Assist associates with trainings through the LMS
  • Assist associates with benefit related questions and enrollment
  • Administer benefit programs, including benefit insurance and retirement plans through benefit orientations
  • Maintain records of benefit enrollment tracking and compliance
  • Maximize benefit platform to ensure all features are used efficiently
  • Keep the benefit platform up to date with benefit updates as needed
  • Maintain and troubleshoot electronic data interchange (EDI) files to the carriers and payroll platform
  • Assist with benefit audits, reconciliations and payments
  • Manage and support the annual benefit open enrollment period
  • Administer workers compensation claim information, including reviewing and filing, communicating with all parties involved and completing state forms in a timely manner
  • Maintain workers compensation records and reporting
  • Provide direct support to the Benefits and Training Supervisor and other HR department projects as required
  • Additional duties as assigned
Ingredients Required (Qualifications):
  • Effective oral and written abilities; able to conduct a professional presentation for varying sized groups
  • 1 year of general HR experience
  • 1 year of working with an HRIS
  • High level of detail and organization with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Must be tech-savvy with a willingness to learn any technical equipment or systems
  • Flexibility to travel to other locations, on occasion
  • Flexibility to work off hours, on occasion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus
