The Receptionist at the Pitkin County Senior Center provides basic front desk support to visitors and creates a resource-rich experience for customers.

This position is 16 hours per week and temporary.Welcomes guests; assists visitors and directs them to the correct staff person as needed.
Answers the phone, takes messages and transfers calls as needed daily.
Assists clients in coordinating and signing up for programs daily, including signing up and signing in for lunch.
Supports the relationship between Pitkin County government and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors, and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
Up to 1 year experience
High School Diploma or GED; Associates Degree preferred
General County and office policies and procedures
Records management principles and practices
Customer service techniques, including de-escalation
Basic accounting and budgeting principles and practices
Skill In:
Organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines and accomplish tasks
Typing and entering data with speed and accuracy
Microsoft Office Products and Google Suite
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
Communicating clearly both verbally and in writing
Work is performed in a standard office environment
