PUSD is approximately 50 minutes from downtown San Francisco with a direct line on Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART). Pittsburg Unified School District serves more than 11,000 students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. The District also provides our community with an outstanding public preschool program and award-winning adult education school (PAEC).

8 Elementary Schools, 3 Junior High Schools, 1 Comprehensive High School, 1 Alternative Education High School, Adult Education, Independent study, Alternative learning experiences, and Early Childhood Education.

Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Student Services or his/her designee, the School Nurse is responsible for providing required health services and education for students identified with health needs; training staff on the administration of medication and on-site procedures; ensure students and staff are in compliance with state laws pertaining to immunizations; universal precautions, infectious disease control, illness policy and assisting in maintaining health related competency levels for staff in accordance with District policies.

Education, Experience, Licenses and Other Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university.
Valid California registration as a Registered Nurse (RN).
School Nurse Services Credential (SNSC), or enrolled in a program within six (6) months of employment.
Valid First Aid and CPR certificates issued by an authorized agency.
Valid California Driver's License.
Two (2) years of related nursing experience in a school or clinical environment including work with children, adolescents and special education-related functions.
Bilingual/Bi-literate in Spanish desirable
