Maintenance Technician Role Overview

This position involves supporting the Maintenance Manager in maintaining properties, facility equipment, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal operational efficiency.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities :

Open the facility and activate lights, compressors, and glue. Ensure all equipment is operational, especially during the first two hours of production.

One technician should remain on the production floor from 6 am to 7 am to ensure all machines are functioning properly.

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests to keep all machinery operational. Prioritize machinery at all times. Acquire necessary parts promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Adhere to the schedule for regular property maintenance and upkeep.
  • Conduct daily preventative maintenance to ensure reliability and effectiveness, particularly during employees' breaks and lunch periods when machines are available.
  • Follow and implement best practices for facility maintenance and repairs.
  • Utilize knowledge of new technology and industry trends to enhance maintenance processes. Identify and address weak points in equipment.
  • Maintain outdoor areas, including snow removal during winter.
  • Follow the schedule and tasks assigned by the Maintenance Manager. Notify the manager when parts and supplies are low.

Maintain high performance standards and ensure accuracy and quality in tasks.

  • Comply with OSHA and other local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
  • Uphold established quality standards for all processes.
  • Keep detailed logs of equipment and tools purchased, including serial numbers for inventory.
  • Coordinate and manage support from external service providers.
  • Provide regular updates on maintenance status and detailed written reports to the Maintenance Manager. Complete any other necessary reporting.
  • Monitor and maintain recycling machinery (compactor and baler) as needed.
  • Actively participate in facility safety initiatives.
  • This is a proactive maintenance role, emphasizing the importance of maintenance as a top priority.
