PKC Group is Hiring a Technician I, Maintenance Near Traverse, MI

Job DescriptionTRAVERSE CITY, MI
Technician I, Maintenance
This position is responsible for all aspects of the preventative maintenance and repairs of the facility and production related equipment.
Your tasks .
  • Responsible for the preventative maintenance schedule and preventative maintenance activities and repairs of all plant equipment, making production equipment a priority in order to ensure an efficient production flow.
  • Troubleshoot and make repairs including mechanical and electrical related repairs.
  • Research part suppliers and procure parts as needed for equipment related repairs and maintenance.
  • Responsible for adhering to monthly repair and maintenance expense budget.
  • Special projects as assigned including new program auxiliary equipment, existing continuous improvement projects for existing programs.
  • Responsible for compliance with assigned Safety Protocol’s such as Lockout Tagout, Machine Guarding and Electrical Safety.
  • Design and fabricate equipment to improve and support production operations as needed.
  • Ensure personal adherence to all Environmental Health and Safety rules and procedures are maintained, including housekeeping and proper operation of tools and equipment.
Your profile .
  • Education and Experience:
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Five (5) years documented experience in electrical circuitry of computerized equipment and a minimum of two (2) years experience in machine repair.
  • Skill/ knowledge requirements:
    • Computer Skills – comfortable with Word, and Excel and Database data entry.
    • Must be able to read electrical schematics
    • Full understanding of the functions and potential issues of mechanical equipment and electrical systems
    • The ability to assess, troubleshoot, and repair any mechanical or electrical issue that does not require a licensed contractor.
  • Business/Technical Knowledge:
    • Preferred - Experience with high speed stamping presses preferred.
  • Working Conditions:
    • Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
    • Must be able to move about 85% of the time to various locations of facility to repair and/or install equipment, and stay in one place 15% of the time to concentrate on maintaining records and/or reports.
