Overview

The Business Solutions Group provides entrepreneurial and family-owned businesses accounting, tax and advisory support. From taxation issues and mandatory accounting needs to business restructuring and succession planning, our expertise can make a substantial difference to entrepreneurs striving to expand their business to a new level and ensure continued success for the next generation.

The Business Solutions Associate should be able to perform and direct the broadest range of accounting tasks. This individual will assist the Senior Accountant or in-charge in the development of engagement strategy, planning, execution of work, review and interpretation of findings.

Essential Duties

• Prepare write-ups, bank reconciliations, payroll/sales tax and conducts a self-review before submission for review.
• Prepare financial statements, consolidated statements, and various other accounting statements (including cash flow statement and footnotes.
• Responsible for posting and maintaining general preparation of supporting schedules and adjusting journal entries.
• Assist with various engagements including audit, reviews and compilations under direct supervision.
• Ability to prepare or review tax returns, financial statements, monthly/quarterly write-up services, engagement documentation and related reports.
• Review and verify the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classification assigned to various records.
• Ability to conduct tax research, income tax projections and prepare basic entity and individual tax returns.

Qualifications

• Bachelors and/or Masters Accounting degree from an accredited college or university.
• Prior CPA Firm internship experience is preferred.
• Eligible to sit for the CPA Exam or have passed all or parts of the CPA Exam.
• Must have 150-credit requirement by start date.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge and experience working with QuickBooks
• Basic working knowledge and application of GAAP standards.
• Basic working knowledge of Federal and State taxation.
• Effective written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Encouraged participation in civic or professional organizations.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions and recommendations in client related matters.
