Summary

The Childcare Facility DIrector is responsible for ensuring the daycare center is focused on the health, safety, and education for all children utilizing the center. The Center is for a small, local business and parents will be on-site during the day; however, care will be provided mainly by the teachers and the Childcare Facility Director. The Director is accountable for overall operational management in accordance with state and local regulations to include curriculum development, staff and facilities management, budgetary considerations, and strategic planning. 

Schedule

Monday-Friday for Day Shift with Saturday and Sunday Off

Pay

$52,000-$62,000 Annually; Based on experience

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Directly leads and supervises teachers of the daycare center. Carries out supervisory responsibilities to include hiring, licensing, training, planning, directing work, appraising performance, providing regular positive and constructive feedback and handling any challenges in accordance with state law and PLA Beauty Inc. policies.

Responsibilities and Duties 

• Maintain daycare center standards for licensing, safety and education as well as ensure all state and local requirements and changes are adhered to
• Develop and implement general educational curriculum for children of a mixed age group and collaborate with staff to develop positive learning activities while adhering to regulations
• Build a team that creates a positive, energetic and caring environment for the daycare center
• Create and maintain student records in accordance with established enrollment procedures and state and local regulations
• Maintain communications with parents of current children through multiple means of communication
• Resolve conflicts (including corrective action when necessary) 
• Establish illness and emergency procedures
• Ensure staff is trained appropriately and maintain records 
• Adhere to a personal and professional development plan to ensure continuous improvement
• Fill the role as a teacher within the daycare center
• Complete additional duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• Associate Degree in early childhood education preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience 
• Minimum of 3 years of direct professional experience in an early childhood setting
• Meets all requirements as set forth by the State of Nevada

Skills and Abilities

• Maintain any state and federal requirements to include TB test, CPR/First Aid certification, Sheriff Card, and meet all NV Registry requirements
• Strong oral and written communications skills to include computer skills
• Ability to work well with team members, parents and children to create a team environment
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
• Love for children and supporting working parents
• Punctual, professional and organized
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to complete various activities in the daycare center that may require hours of walking, lifting, standing, pushing, pulling, squatting, kneeling and carrying
• Capable of maintaining the high energy level to care for young children
• Must be able to move up to 50 pounds at a time
