Place of Grace is Hiring a Peer Recovery Coach Near Huntington, IN

Place of Grace envisions a Christ-centered community that empowers persons to become responsible citizens with hope and purpose for their future. Our mission is to provide faith-based residential recovery services to help persons break cycles of destructive behavior related to addiction, trauma, and poverty.

Job Title: Peer Recovery Coach

Job Status: Hourly, exempt at 10-20 hours per week.

Job Summary: The Peer Recovery Coach will work directly under the Program Director and Peer Coach Supervisor to provide peer support to Huntington County Drug Court participants by encouraging individuals to find the pathway to recovery that best fits their needs and supporting them in their recovery journey.

Compensation: $15 per hour

Essential Job Duties:

● Provide peer support to Drug Court participants.

o Stay up to date and informed about services and opportunities available in our community, and connect clients with these resources.

o Assist clients with working towards short- and long-term goals to ensure their individual needs are being met.

o Assist clients with creating and updating personal Relapse Prevention Plans.

Coordinate with Drug Court and Probation team members to ensure client success in Drug Court program.

● Maintain appropriate tracking regarding services provided.

● Provide feedback to and accept feedback from Drug Court team and Peer Coach Supervisor.

● Respect client confidentiality.

● Be sensitive to cultural diversity and respectful of clients.

Qualifications and Education:

● Minimum High School graduate or HSE, but an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study is preferred.

● Some knowledge or experience working in mental health, drug/alcohol addiction field is required. Som knowledge or experience working with the justice system is required, preference given to candidates who have successfully completed a Drug Court program.

● Must be certified as a Peer Recovery Coach or achieve certification within 3 months of employment.

● Must have reliable transportation, a valid Indiana Driver’s license, and show proof of car insurance.

● Must identify as being in recovery from a substance use disorder and is willing to share details of his or her personal recovery experience.

● Minimum two years of sustained sobriety/recovery.

● Must have their own support system to support their own recovery.

● Must be a humble individual who is willing to put the success of the team before their own.

● Must be a passionate and energetic individual who is willing to take on new challenges.

● Must work well with others, even in difficult situations and with a diverse group of people.

● Must be willing to be vulnerable with their teammates and encourage an environment of trust.

● Must be willing to take appropriate risks and learn from failure. Must be willing to give grace to others when they fail.

● Must be willing to increase their knowledge of addictions, incarceration, and services available in the community.

● Must represent the organization well in their personal and professional life, including through social media.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
