The Regional Manager - Custom is a remote position that is responsible for initiating and developing strategies in identified markets toward long term relationships with strategic targets. The Regional Manager - Custom is accountable to achieve annual sales goals and managing assigned core accounts; while identifying, developing and selling new customer opportunities to increase sales and profitability.
Must live in one of the following states of coverage Position territory: Minnesota Iowa Missouri Illinois Wisconsin Indiana Michigan Essential Accountabilities New business development - Identify and close business with new customer opportunities.
- Establish key relationships with decision makers / influencers.
- Communicate customer and market needs to research and development and new product development teams.
- Identify competitive response scenarios and strategy.
- Support marketing plans and tradeshows.
- Recommend new products or technologies to target markets.
- Assist with project management activities through new product development process.
Grow/maintain customers - Conduct needs analysis with customers and develop proposals.
- Account development.
- Develop and maintain account records, account plans, territory status reports and customer information.
- Maintain and build key relationships with decision makers / influencers.
- Develop forecasts and goals.
Deliver Sales Growth - Deliver annual sales targets.
- Assist in developing pricing strategies.
- Support execution of price increases.
- Understand and sell value based pricing.
Gather competitive information - Identify technology trends and maintain industry technology knowledge in the areas of materials, design, tool lead times, sustainability trends and process technologies.
- Develop and maintain market knowledge and remain current on trends.
All other duties as assigned by Manager.
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years sales experience in a manufacturing setting, thermoforming preferred.
Desired Skills - Knowledge of thermoforming, injection molding or other plastic forming processes.
- Familiarity with consumer/retail products in the packaging industry.
