Job Summary:
Utilizing accounting principles, this role manages financial processes within a designated area or fund group. Responsibilities include compiling financial data, executing journal entries across multiple accounts, and reconciling reports to ensure accuracy. Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations is essential for maintaining compliance. Proficiency in fund accounting systems is expected. Additionally, understanding departmental goals, policies, and procedures, along with awareness of interdepartmental relationships, is crucial.
Major Duties:
-Compile and prepare Payroll Journal Entries for MIP posting.
-Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions in alignment with generally accepted accounting principles.
-Stay informed about relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Initiate and process journal entries across various accounts.
-Reconcile sub-ledgers with the general ledger and address discrepancies.
-Utilize software applications like spreadsheets, databases, and graphics packages for data manipulation and formatting.
-Apply knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, ensuring document completeness and compliance.
-Manage bank-related tasks such as depreciation schedules, cash receipts, and GL account reconciliations.
-Complete Form 941.
