Position: Store Manager, Healdsburg, CA

About Us:

Plank Coffee & Roastery has been serving up great coffee, pastries and food since
2012. We have been roasting specialty coffee in our roasting facility/commercial kitchen since 2016. We have cafe locations in both Cloverdale and Healdsburg, and we are growing!

In addition to house-roasted coffee and house-made pastries, we offer an ample selection of breakfast and lunch items. We are completely vegetarian with several vegan and gluten-free options available. We use primarily organic ingredients and are proud to source from our local farmers.

Store Manager Requirements:

This is a full-time on-site position. Cafe Managers must be able to work 5 days a week.
Open availability is ideal but we can work together to create a suitable schedule!

Minimum of two years management experience as a manager of a restaurant, cafe or coffee shop is required. Please submit your resume and tell us more!

Store Manager Responsibilities:

• Customer Liaison

-Effectively communicate our philosophy in the cafe environment

-Coaching of employees on handling customer requests

• Employee Communication

-Communication of new policies/procedures/food or beverage items

-Ongoing employee training and professional development

-Provide recommendations and pathways for employee growth

• Floor Shifts

-Complete training and become proficient on all positions: Cashier,Barista and Food Bar

-As a team leader, approximately 32 hours will be floor time and 8 hours will be management activities

• Schedules

-Develop and publish schedules

-Coordinate sick coverage and log details into Homebase

-Approve shift changes and vacation requests

-Communicate any updates with employees at cafe

-Adjust schedules to business needs

• Cash Management

-Balance cash drawer and provide change as needed

-Count tips and record

• Maintaining Safety and Food Quality Standards

-Ensuring that food is handled per safety and quality standards

-Quality control of all food/drinks made at the cafe

-Person-In-Charge for Environmental Health inspections

• Perform Inventories/Place Orders

-Weekly dry goods and dairy orders

-Equipment audits

-Glassware/Flatware/Accessories monthly audits

• Equipment Training

-Ensure that employees are trained on all equipment

-Understanding equipment and troubleshooting

• Employee Handbook

-Familiarity with the Employee Handbook

-Ensure that employees understand policies and procedures

• New Hires

-New hire orientation and training

-Customer service and hospitality training

• Delegation/Communication with Staff

-Daily check-in with all staff members about their departments/day

-Coaching staff on best daily practices

-Help facilitate effective flow of cafe

• Communication with Operations Director

-New/updated procedures

-Weekly meetings

Pay is $20 to $22 per hour plus up to $10 (or more) per hour in tips.
