Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Manager, Wellbeing Centers Initiative (LCSW) with excellent clinical and communication skills to work full-time at our Downtown Los Angeles Headquarters. Oversee PPLA's behavioral health services for teens, including the Teen Call Line, as well as parents. Recommend, develop, implement, and evaluate goals, objectives, policies, and procedures related to behavioral health services for teens. Develop, supervise, orientate, and manage the training of licensed and unlicensed Teen Call Line program personnel, in collaboration with the Patient Services leadership team. The manager has full line and functional management responsibility, under the leadership of the Director of Behavioral Health, for comprehensive, multi-disciplinary behavioral health programs for teens that have impact throughout all PPLA programs and services. Serve as a subject matter expert for PPLA's education programs and support the enhancement of education efforts toward wellbeing, including behavioral health for both teens and parents.

Our Ideal Candidate will have the following qualifications:
    • Current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in the state of California for a minimum of 2 years required.
    • A minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience with at least 4 years of direct clinical services required.
    • A minimum of 1 year of program management/administration required.
    • A minimum of 2 years of experience supervising staff required.
    • A minimum of 3 years of experience providing behavioral health services to adolescents, young adults, and clients of all genders, ethnicities, race, class and economic factors required.
Clinical/Patient Care Responsibilities:
    • Abortion patients are cared for at each of our health centers, and in part through the administrative, support, and other non-clinical services provided at all PPLA locations, and by all PPLA employees. Supporting these critical services is an essential job duty, and a fundamental responsibility of all employees and contractors.
    • Manage, coordinate, and participate in the development and implementation of behavioral health program and services for teens, working closely with the Director, Behavioral Health.
    • Develop goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and priorities that follow best practices for adolescents.
    • Act as liaison with LA County Mental Health, Department of Public Health, and LAUSD.
    • Maintain an effective working relationship with behavioral health community-based providers.
    • Prepare, administer, and monitor the program budget to ensure the accomplishment of program and service objectives within budget restrictions.
    • Select, supervise, train, and evaluate clinical, professional, and volunteer staff
Management/Administrative Responsibilities:
    • Provide general oversight and supervision for all mental health service delivery within the teen program.
    • Collaborate closely with appropriate PPLA Staff to problem solve and find solutions for the benefit of patients and staff, as well as teen callers.
    • Collaborate with Director of Behavioral Health and Patient Services Leadership in regard to the Wellbeing Centers Initiative.
    • Participate in the development, revision, implementation, and evaluation of behavioral health practice standards, guidelines, and policies and procedures based on current literature, research, and practice in regard to serving teens.
    • Collaborate with the Call Center Manager to support training and coaching of Teen Call Line Specialists.
    • Assist with the recruitment and hiring processes of new LMFTs/LCSWs.
    • Serve as a clinical resource for staff regarding behavioral health protocols and patient management for teens.
    • Ensure clinical compliance with PPLA protocols consistent with PPFA, federal, and state standards and laws.
    • Support Director, Behavioral Health with updates to the PPLA's Medical Standards and Guidelines and ensures successful implementation into clinical practice.
    • Work closely with the Chief Education and Programs Officer, Senior Directors of Clinical Services and Health Center Operations, and Director of Behavioral Health in program development and evaluation processes.
    • Foster team development between licensed and unlicensed staff.
    • Attend clinic staff, clinic management, and general staff meetings and in-services as applicable.
    • Participate in Task Forces or committees as needed and/or as requested.
    • Complete performance management plans and appropriate disciplining action as it pertains to the LMFT/LCSWs or ASW behavioral and clinical performance in regard to the Teen Call Line.
    • Enforce strong internal and external customer service standards of all program staff.
    • Adhere to Agency's policies, procedures, and protocols.
    • Manage direct report(s) to include but not limited to overseeing successful completion of tasks / duties, review of timesheets in a timely manner, setting productivity goals & quality of work output expectations by exercising effective judgment and addressing and/or elevating grievances (staff concerns), as appropriate.
    • Adhere to PPLA's policies and procedures for interviewing / selecting new hires, promotions, transfers, performance management and separations.

Educator Responsibilities:
    • Serve as a role model for the professional development of staff, colleagues, and others.
    • Promote and encourages professional growth and development.
    • Develop, supervise, orientate, and manage the training of licensed and unlicensed Teen Call Line program personnel.
    • Utilize advanced principles of adult education to participate in direct and indirect patient education.
    • Support the Education Department with development of overall well-being and/or mental health education efforts
    • Collaborate with Wellbeing Center staff from PPLA and DPH to support behavioral health efforts
    • Provide input in the development of patient education materials
    • Participate in activities/programs which benefit the community
    • Work to ensure understanding and acceptance of the role of the Behavioral Health team by colleagues, other professional consumers, and the community at large
    • Recognize ethical, legal, and professional issues inherent in providing behavioral healthcare to teens and parents
Quality, Safety/Risk Management Responsibilities:
    • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager to identify and assist with the development, solicitation, and implementation of corrective plans of action.
    • Must meet Los Angeles County background check requirements via Live Scan fingerprint clearance.
    • Ability and willingness to travel within Los Angeles County.
    • Reliable means of transportation for onsite and off-site work.
    • If using a personal vehicle to drive for work purposes, a valid CA driver license and current auto insurance in compliance with the minimum requirements of CA vehicle code are required.
