Job Summary:
The Development Manager manages the planning, development, and implementation of fundraising and public relations goals. The Philanthropy Officer is also responsible for developing and nurturing relationships within the community, with donors and volunteers by planning and implementing events and through volunteer activities. They will work a mid-level giving program and identify donors for major gifts, as well as grow the mid-level giving program, peer-to-peer fundraising, PPOL offline and online, monthly sustainer program, manage events in partnership with the Senior VP and devo staff. They will work closely with the database coordinator on mailings, stewardship and growth/retention rates for new, lybunts, and sybunts. They will assist with wealth screening and prospecting as well as carry a mid-level donor portfolio. Raiser’s edge experience preferred
Essential Functions:
1.In collaboration with the Senior Vice President of Development, develops and regularly evaluates an annual fundraising work plan, budget and calendar.
2.Plans and coordinates fundraising, marketing and outreach strategies in coordination with Senior VP of Development and VP of Communications.
3.Coordinates with the database coordinator portfolios and prospect MOVES management to identify from mid-level donors major gift pipeline.
4.Plans, implements and manages the research and cultivation and solicitation of annual fund and planned giving prospects as part of an integrated Development plan.
5.Creates strategies for new sources of funding and creative methods of fundraising that will result in short and long term increased revenue.
6.Assigned a mid-level giving portfolio
7.Grow the monthly sustainer program and peer to peer fundraising
8.Coordinate logistics for c3 events, lead on spring benefit and drag event and any other events assigned as part of an overall strategy.
9.Monitor every action gifts for c3 and works to assist finance with reports
10.Use of Raiser’s edge, omatic to assist with moves management.
11.Monitors and regularly reports on progress toward revenue goals.
12.Collaborates with Director Volunteer Management to assist in developing and nurturing a volunteer network of groups and/or individuals in support of events, programs and in-kind needs.
13.Assists in the evaluation of marketing/advertising plans for specific target groups and promotional programs.
14.Participates in the development of procedures and standards for the department.
15.Plans events as assigned and supports events coordinated by others for fundraising purposes.
16.Provides leadership, guidance, support and supervision to assigned department staff.
17.Researches, develops and manages grants and proposals as assigned, including coordination with program and finance staff, grant presentations and site visits, appropriate reporting, stewardship and recognition.
18.Attends and participates in both community meetings and internal task force groups as assigned to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies.
19.Participates in the quality improvement process.
20.Special projects and other tasks as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education: A Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience in a related field is required. A Master degree in a related field is preferred.
Minimum Work Experience: Ten plus years in fund development, communications and management experience.
Other Requirements: Current driver’s license, own or have reliable transportation. Raiser’s edge background preferred.
Experience:
1.Minimum two (3-5) years experience managing non-profit volunteer Boards and stakeholders, and related activities/events.
2.Background in women’s health, non-profit fundraising, and public relations strongly preferred.
3.Proven track record in major gift solicitation, leading prospect management efforts and designing gift tables.
4.Experience working closely with Boards and organizational leadership.
5.Self-motivated, creative strategic thinker with a proven track record of working independently, solving problems and achieving results.
6.Demonstrated appreciation for the level of detail, discretion and good judgment necessary for effective solicitation and cultivation of donors and supporters.

1.Proven ability to manage a complex and multi-faceted fundraising program; significant experience leading a broad range of development functions including annual campaigns, major gifts, planned giving, grant writing and special events.
