STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Plant Care Technician’s primary responsibilities are the care and maintenance of interior and exterior plants at commercial locations using one’s own vehicle with reimbursed mileage and usage. The service coverage area is Boston, Braintree/RT3 to Plymouth. Monday through Friday during typical business hours with some flexibility. This individual must possess strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, walk long distances, comfortable climbing ladders and working in high profile corporate environments.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintain live plants in commercial and residential settings.
· Perform plant maintenance duties including inspecting, cleaning, grooming, rotating, watering, and maintaining appearances.
· Follow service routing plans.
· Delivery and installation of live plants in commercial and residential facilities.
· Document onsite plant condition through field service application
· Communicate with the client in a timely manner in regard to client needs and desires
· Engage with clients to build a strong professional relationship
· Other Duties As Assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School Diploma.
· Familiar with Microsoft Office and use GPS tools for guidance
· Basic understanding of design principles and aesthetics – a creative eye.
· Ability to read spreadsheets and written work orders.
· Ability to use a smart phone and time tracking phone application.
· Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
· Good natured and able to handle pressure.
· Balance efficiencies while offering a great customer experience to clients.
· Maintain a professional appearance and manner.
· Ability to learn Horticultural practices- plant variety names both common and Latin - training provided.
· An ability to manage several projects simultaneously, work independently and in teams.
· A valid driver’s license and reliable insured transportation in order to travel to and from clients and work-related meetings is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT AS PART OF JOB DUTIES:
The employee must meet the physical demands and work environment of the position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable those with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
· Comfortable operating power tools.
· Ability to climb ladders up to 12’.
· Lift up to 40 pounds.
· Operate scissors
· Possibly available during nontraditional working hours, extended work hours.
· Able to stand, sit, bend over, be at computer, and move around for prolonged periods of time.
· Perform physical activity, including but not limited to: digging, moving heavy objects, being in various cold and heated temperatures, being outside in various weather conditions, being at high heights, working with mechanical tools/power tools, work with heavy machinery, and other physical activities.
POSITION STATUS: This is a full-time position (Benefits for full time position).
SALARY: $19 to $21 per hour
