Job Position: Dental Billing Clerk
Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week between Mon-Fri from 7:30 am-6:00 pm
Starting Pay: $20.00 depending on experience
Benefits: PTO, paid holidays, and matching 403(b)
General Description:
Responsible for scanning encounters and checking the accuracy of daily input of all patient charges, ICD9 and CPT codes, financial and billing information, billing collections, and the determination of patient eligibility. Coordinates compliance with federal proof of income guidelines.
Responsibilities:

• Check that information from the insurance card matches the claim
• Confirms completeness of claim form and use of accurate CPT and ICD-10 codes and assists providers when requested
• Checks Medicaid eligibility when necessary
• Participates in the verification of the accuracy of statements for self-pay accounts on a weekly basis
• Assists in positing denials from insurance companies when needed
• Track compliance with proof of income guidelines
• Assists in the training of students and new employees
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. 1 year dental billing and ICD9/CPT coding experience required. Certified coder preferred.
Other Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and phone skills. Effective verbal and written communication in English and Spanish preferred. Basic analytical skills and ability to relate well with others in a team-based environment. Organizational skills and ability to follow a project through to completion. 10-key and minimum typing speed of 50 wpm desired. Must be able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
