Our client is a leading, expansion-stage, investment firm that invests in high-growth technology businesses founded in Australia and NZ. They have a unique model and strategy which differentiates them from other Venture Capital firms and will only partner with founder led businesses that have achieved a product-market fit and have sights on global expansion. They are high conviction on their investments and have a demonstrated track record with multiple full and partial cash realisations.

This is an exciting opportunity to become a key contributor to a small and passionate team of technology investors who are entrepreneurial at their core. The team are looking to hire one (potentially two) Investment Associates to join the team based in Sydney. The Investment Associate/s will assist the team in all facets of the investment process from pipeline management, analysis, investment papers and due diligence processes. They will work closely with portfolio companies to assist with raising further capital, providing strategic insights and helping them prepare for exit. The successful candidate will also work closely with the wider team to assist with the fund’s wider operations such as analysing portfolio company performance, assisting with Investor Relations and supporting twice-yearly portfolio valuations.

We are seeking candidates with 1-4 years of work experience gained from a global investment bank, leading independent, Big 4 accounting firm, strategy consulting firm, PE, VC or CVC background. We will also consider potential candidates coming from a mix of one of the above backgrounds, coupled with experience from a high calibre tech company/start up. You must have a strong understanding of business valuation concepts, and how to apply these, combined with the ability to analyse financial statements and data. You will also be humble in style and happy to pick up the less revenue-generating aspects of the role which are nevertheless critical to the firm’s success.
