Job DescriptionThe Caregiver Relations Consultant is responsible for serving as a trusted resource for Core Leaders and Caregivers who face employee relations matters where content and subject-matter expertise is needed. The role includes ensuring consistent and best practice approaches to positive employee and labor relations, adherence to HR policies, compliance with regulatory and policy requirements and standards, investigations, and recommendations for workplace environment improvement.
Additional areas of accountability include employee relations research, identifying trends and patterns and need for critical intervention, labor relations research, dispute alternatives and policy development, effective recordkeeping and data integrity.
  • Maintains HR metrics and dashboards and reports to other HR professionals so actions can be aligned with findings.
  • Performs all duties in a manner which promotes teamwork and reflects the mission, values, and philosophy and the values of the human resources division.
  • Provides advanced consulting expertise in employee relations-based interactions and activities.
  • Recommends resolution for contract and employee grievances after thorough contract and policy review, and investigations have been completed.
  • Coaches leaders through complex employee relations issues to include performance management, grievances, LOA / ADA, etc.
  • Provides advice consistent with the values, objectivity and in alignment with the protocols of the Caregiver Relations team.
  • Uses facts and data to interpret and trend data for effective business decisions.
  • Acts as trusted personal advisor to core leaders and caregivers during "Moments that Matter" throughout the employment life cycle.
  • The goal is to provide personalized and effective experience during situations which require employee relations expertise. Accountable for timely and effective response, management and resolution of Employee Relations concerns and investigations.
  • Applies critical thinking and high touch customer service to resolve basic Employee Relations concerns.
  • Ensures that all cases follow policy and are compliant with applicable law.
  • Performs all duties in a manner which demonstrates exceptional customer service, fosters a team concept and reflects organizational values.
  • Requires an effective and professional working relationship with all levels of the organization, including caregivers and core leaders.
  • Provides advanced level of escalation support for department leaders and caregivers.
  • Maintains balance between caregiver and core leader relationship.
  • Serves as a consultant to core leaders on employee relations matters where content and subject matter expertise is needed.
  • Provides consultation to core leaders on complex investigations and provides recommendations for appropriate corrective action and discipline.
  • Identifies and appropriately escalates circumstances of highly complex or potential Title VII allegations to Sr. HR Consultant.
  • Assists in identifying opportunities for problem resolution to resolve issues between core leaders and caregivers.
  • Works to manage risk and deploy best practices in the administration and delivery of ER services (e.g. Regulatory Bodies, EEOC and state agencies, ADA/LOA, Wage & Hour, Wrongful Discharge).
  • Advocates fair and appropriate workplace practices in accordance with mission, values, and legal parameters.
  • Leads challenging conversations and interactions.
  • Promotes and utilizes HR technology, metrics, and systems to support the overall needs of the business.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely case management using ServiceNow system in promotion of data compliance, integrity and reporting.
  • Focusses on real time ER assessments and / or investigations / recommendations.
  • Works collaboratively with core leaders, local HR, HRSC, HR Connect, HR Consultants and others, including Labor / Employment counsel as appropriate.
  • Demonstrates service excellence and positive interpersonal relations in dealing with others, including caregivers, internal and external customers, to maximize productivity and service delivery results.
  • Responds timely to complex questions, including researching appropriate information and soliciting SME input when requested and appropriate.
  • Escalates issues, where appropriate, through a formalized issue / inquiry escalation process within HR Consulting as well as to other business partners, where applicable.
  • Resolves core leader and / or caregiver questions and concerns through the various steps of the employment life cycle.
  • Provide and advise core leaders with information about HR policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge and application of all compliance and legal requirements of the job based on the scope of practice of the position.
  • Uses critical thinking and strategic methodology to identify and develop innovative service delivery solutions. Provide ER Consulting expertise on projects, may lead small projects.
  • Assures compliance with confidentiality policies, in accordance with State and Federal laws, maintains confidentiality of caregiver, patient, and business-related information.
  • Demonstrates strong communications skills including verbal communications and written words.
  • Demonstrates ability to listen for key messages / themes.
  • Identifies all sides of the issues with the ability to separate facts and data from emotion.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively educate and influence caregiver and leaders.
  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of employee relations principles, including Federal and State employment laws, organizational policies, and collective bargaining agreements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Employee Relations or HR Consulting roles.
  • Proven experience in handling complex employee relations issues, including investigations, conflict resolution, and grievance management.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, regulations, and HR compliance requirements.
  • In-depth understanding of employee relations principles, including performance management, grievances, and LOA/ADA.
  • Ability to serve as a trusted advisor to core leaders and caregivers, providing expert guidance on HR policies and employee relations matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking to assess situations, analyze data, and provide sound recommendations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead challenging conversations and influence outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, recommend interventions, and escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems (e.g., ServiceNow), Microsoft Office Suite, and HR analytics tools. Experience maintaining HR metrics and dashboards.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a customer service-oriented approach and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to HR-related projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, maintaining compliance with confidentiality policies and legal requirements.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
