Position SummaryWe are seeking an Outside Sales Representative at Playland who will be responsible for generating revenue through private events, corporate functions, and special gatherings. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in the sales process, with skills in generating leads, relationship building, and deal closing. We are looking for someone who is a quick learner and has strong negotiating skills. The successful candidate should be able to prospect for new sales accounts, create and nurture a pipeline of group leads and opportunities, and play a key role in enhancing Playland's reputation as a premier destination for memorable gatherings.
Responsibilities
  • Represent the company effectively with comprehensive knowledge of our offerings and research consumer needs and identify how our solutions address them.
  • Create and execute a strategic sales plan that expands our customer base and extends the company's global reach.
  • Proactive efforts required include phone solicitation with new and repeat accounts; personal outside sales calls with existing customers as well as cold calling for new clients.
  • Meet with prospective clients to understand their event objectives, preferences, and budgetary requirements. Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized event proposals and packages that align with client needs and highlight the park’s unique offerings and capabilities.
  • Create leads and develop long-term relationships in the event planning, production, and promotion communities, and with other relevant companies, organizations, and groups, and be a positive ambassador of the Playlands brand internally and externally.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the event planning and execution process, coordinating logistics, timelines, and vendor relationships to ensure seamless delivery of services. Provide on-site support during events to oversee setup, execution, and guest satisfaction.
  • Cross-selling and Upselling: Identify opportunities to upsell additional services, amenities, or experiences to enhance the overall event experience and maximize revenue potential.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to drive repeat business and referrals.
  • Follow up with client’s post-event to gather feedback, address any concerns, and solicit testimonials or reviews.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market demand for event services. Analyze sales performance metrics and customer feedback to identify areas of opportunity and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Participate in the park budget process which includes preparation and development.
  • Responsible for adhering to all planned budget amounts.
  • Available to participate in the Park Manager-On-Duty program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, hospitality, or equivalent sales experience.
  • 3- 5 years of sales experience in event sales or hospitality sales roles, with a proven record of accomplishment of exceeding sales targets and building a book of business.
  • You should have a passion for business and relationship development, as well as expertise in selling sponsored events and innovative integrated experiential marketing programs.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with clients.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience driving revenue growth with emerging opportunities and established.
  • Demonstrated experience using sales materials and market insights to craft strategy and narrative.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and goal-oriented with a strong willingness to learn and constantly improve Expertise in identifying opportunities, developing strategies, and negotiating creative.
  • Able to work independently, and have excellent organizational, multi-tasking & customer service skills.
  • Available to work flexible hours to include nights, holidays, and weekends based on business needs.
  • Management experience preferred.
