Job Description: Lead / Senior Interior Designer
Plum is focused on single family residential design. This role is intended to focus on the interior environment. Experience in interior design, custom casework, bespoke furnishings, design are all applicable to this position.
We are looking for:
- Passion for design, art, architecture, and the creative process
- Confident, pro-active communicator, open to feedback, that finds greatest success in a team based approach
- Leadership skills; in working with clients, and mentoring junior designers
- Accountability to project success, the firm, and as a member of a team
Role breakdown:
- Provide strong project leadership and seamless service, with exceptional communication throughout
- Collaborate with the design team to help shape the client’s experience in the space
- Develop a well-documented drawing set through all phases of a project
- Develop detailed specifications
- Create and present vision and material boards, color palettes, selections, and specifications
- Project Management and serving as a point of contact for clients
-Tracking day to day project financials
- Communicating and working closely with the build, design, and fabrication teams
Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience of 6-10 years experience; product development, casework development, interior design, interior architecture.
- Capability to lead multiple projects of various sizes, scales, and budgets.
- Advanced knowledge in Revit, Proficiency in SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Suite.
- Ability to communicate effectively through graphic and visual representation including diagramming, sketching and renderings.
- Experience navigating permitting processes with various local jurisdictions.
- Knowledge of sustainable practices and materials.
- Comfort welcoming and conversing with clients and the public entering the Plum Projects Showroom.
- Desire to keep learning and developing skills.
Compensation and Benefits:
- This position has a salary range of $80,000 to $95,000. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience.

- Ability to actively work with a woodshop and construction team not just for projects but also research & development
