The Certified Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for the coordination of patient care needs during the office visit and assisting the nursing personnel and medical staff as needed. The MA assists with clinical and business office duties.
Location:We are located at 1065 Bucks Lake Road, Quincy, CA 95971.
Compensation:Compensation Philosophy: We have 13 pay increments on our clinical pay scales to compensate staff for 30 years of relevant experience.
Compensation Range: $20.63- $ 29.42 / hour
Job Status / Shift Information:Full-time and weekdays
Qualifications:Education | Current CPR certification required. CMA Certification or willing to obtain within 6 months of employment through a National or California certifying agency:American Association of Medical Assistants, American Medical Technologists, California Certifying Board of Medical Assistants, Multiskilled Medical Certification Institute, or National Healthcareer Association. |
Experience | 2 years of clinical experience preferred. Use of electronic medical record preferred. |
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | Ability to apply good clinical judgment, plan work, establish priorities and maintain flexibility. Proficient written and verbal skills. Ability to instruct and teach. Ability to use a computer proficiently. |
Must meet physical requirements as stated on job description addendum
Responsibilities:- Uses time efficiently: Rooms patients on time, anticipates providers needs and actively works to find additional projects when time is available.
- Takes accurate vital signs, performs necessary lab work, and ensures that proper documentation is included in the patients record prior to providers visit.
- Prepares patient room and equipment for procedures, assisting when necessary.
- Updates the allergy and medication list.
- Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications and immunizations under the providers written orders.
