As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will deliver mission-critical improvements and new features for our autonomy motion control stack. You will be a crucial part of our team, working alongside engineers, research scientists, and domain experts to build optimal and data driven controls to realize planned vehicle trajectories.
Your responsibilities will include the development of machine-learning vehicle models, learning based control policies etc. leveraging the extensive data we collect every day across our autonomous trucking fleet. You will contribute significantly to our commitment to pushing the frontiers of technological innovation in Autonomy.
Responsibilities

• Create framework for learning control policies using DL/RL/IL
• Responsible for conceptual design and implementation for data driven controller by working cross-functionally with domain experts and other stakeholders by specifying meaningful insights for solving trajectory tracking problem
• Design deep learning dataset generation, training, and evaluation tools and infrastructure to advance the state of the art in control online optimizations
• Ensure all model development keeps a real-time focus and operates efficiently in compute-constrained environments
• Track and incorporate the latest multidisciplinary research advancements in a fast-moving field

Required Skills

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Robotics or related field
• 2-3 years of machine learning engineering experience for robotics applications
• Strong knowledge in modern neural network architectures, imitation & reinforcement learning, time-series analysis and modeling of dynamic systems
• Expertise with Python, and willingness to do some C development as needed.
• Experience model development & training with modern frameworks (e.g. PyTorch)
• Hands-on familiarity with data ingestion and processing pipelines

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on application skills in any of the following areas: adaptive and nonlinear control, MPC & optimal control, robust control, data-driven control, Kalman filters, etc.
• Experience implementing Safety guarantees for dynamical systems.

Salary Range

• $125,000 - $175,000 a year
