PMA Consultants Careers is Hiring a Junior Scheduler (111) Near Hartford, CT

Position Summary
PMA is currently seeking a project scheduler to oversee large complex transmission and distribution projects. The primary function is to manage integrated contractor and procurement schedules and to provide accurate and timely decision support information to the project manager and stakeholders, including the ability to study delays and recommend solutions, coordinate schedule and/or cost change, and support the evaluation of requested changes and claims.

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, & maintain project schedules in accordance with the client’s scheduling procedures. Coordinate the various responsible parties throughout engineering, procurement, and construction work.
  • Evaluate schedule progress and trends and provide improvement recommendations to project management and the internal management team.
  • Investigate all deviations from established schedule baselines, apprise and make recommendations to management on corrective actions or workarounds required to meet constituted objectives.
  • Update schedules weekly, perform analysis, and prepare reports for stakeholders.
  • Prepare and issue periodic status and critical item reports to project management that highlights significant program issues and potential delays to project milestones.
  • Understand the project and contract scope and evaluate the submitted contractor schedule's ability to meet milestones and deliverables.
  • Communicate schedule information to project management and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate periodic scheduled meetings when requested by the project manager.
  • Work with the project controls team to verify cost and schedule information.
  • Support the management of the program/project level schedules and coordinate work with the project team.
  • Ensure timely and collaborative communication with clients, including formal reporting and informal influencing.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, project management, or engineering is required unless the applicant has completed at least 6 years of relevant work experience.
  • 2 years of related experience is required.
  • Hands-on, detailed scheduling experience with Oracle Primavera P6 is required.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Prior experience with risk analysis is preferred.
  • Prior experience in transmission and distribution project construction in highly dense population areas is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement best practices in schedule management is preferred.

Additional Requirements
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
