PMAT, Inc. is looking for a driven Project Controls Specialist/Analyst who is a proactive, disciplined, and aspiring team player with strong leadership, communication, and management competencies. Candidates also have a solid knowledge of government contracting, thrive while meeting challenging deadlines, enjoy problem-solving, and aspire to grow continually within the company.

This position requires Client/customer meeting in Northern VA/ MD area thus candidates in the DC Metro area will be preferred.

Project Control Specialist responsibilities will include:

• Works with program and project managers to plan and monitor project performance
• Works with the Finance team to forecast expenditures, prepare estimates at completion, and track costs.
• Understands government contract requirements and maintaining compliance with deliverables.
• Conduct cost analysis and explain the variances from budgets to project managers.
• Knowledge of related DCAA audit and FAR requirements is preferred.
• Apply interpersonal skills to a wide range of contracting situations dealing with prime contractors, subcontractors and government agents.
• Experience with building Excel spreadsheets with advanced formulas and functions.
• Ability to travel as required.

Qualifications:

• 2-3 years of experience in project control and financial analysis
• Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration Bachelor's degree highly preferred
• Well versed in government contract types (i.e. Cost Plus, T&M, FFP, etc.), analysis of contract financial performance
• Flexible and interested in a challenging variety of assignments
• Advanced Excel and data management skills
• All candidates must have strong communication and writing skills, the ability to solve problems independently, and the responsibility to meet deadlines.
• Desired: Experience with Unanet accounting system

The position requires a professional work attitude, ability to communicate openly with management and coworkers, and to work as a team player. Also, requires ability to define estimate/budget requirements, interpret contract requirements, and interact with program managers, subcontractors, and government agents in a professional manner.
