As a Software Architect Sr within PNC's Enterprise Technology's EIM organization. This is a remote position. Work may be performed from a quiet, confidential space in a home location, approved by PNC. This position may not be available in all geographic locations.
Role Description:
PNC is looking for a motivated, detail oriented, and quality driven individual. This person will be responsible to lead API development and architecture effort within an Agile development team. Applicants should have significant development and architectural experience within an enterprise setting. Responsibilities in this position include supporting the creation of Java applications using Microservices and REST APIs.
Mandatory Skills:
8 years of experience in API design and development.
Strong understanding of RESTful and SOAP APIs.
Proficiency in programming language such as Java
Experience with API management tools like Apigee, Postman, or Swagger.
Familiarity with microservices architecture and Springboot.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Experience with API security protocols like OAuth, JWT, and SSL.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Strong understanding of data formats like JSON and XML.
Experience with version control systems like Git.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Experience with performance tuning and optimization.
Ability to mentor and guide junior developers.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop scalable API solutions.
Collaborate with developers, product owners, and data analysts.
Set best practices, guidelines, and standards for API development.
Ensure APIs are secure, efficient, and easy to use.
Troubleshoot and resolve API performance issues.
Optimize API performance and scalability.
Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to development teams.
Implement API versioning and lifecycle management.
Work closely with DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployment.
Participate in architectural discussions and decisions.

Job Description

• Leads in the overall design of cross-functional, multi-platform, and Web-based application systems; oversees all application system processes.
• Develops application architecture and blueprints aimed at reflecting enterprise business logic.
• Defines application components, platforms, interfaces, and development tools. Directs mapping activities on specific technology platforms.
• Provides technical guidance to application development teams. Consults on integration and conversion activities.
• Conducts reviews, and analyses organizational needs and goals to develop and implement applications.
